Celebrate National AccessAbility Week and Red Shirt Day by taking part in the Easter Seals Children’s Art Contest!

Hey Kids,

Do you agree that it is important  to treat everyone equally, including children  who are living with a physical or invisible disability, and that each of us have a responsibility to help remove any obstacles and barriers that prevent them from taking part in activities or moving freely in the community?

Show us your vision and dream for “An Inclusive and Accessible Canada for Everybody” by taking part in our Art Contest!

ABOUT THE CONTEST

  • The Easter Seals Children’s Art Contest is open to all children in Canada between the ages of 6 to 14 years old

  • The contest closes on June 7, 2020.

  • The theme for this year’s contest is “An Inclusive and Accessible Canada for Everybody.”

  • It is free to take part in this contest. There is NO COST to participate.

  • Children can submit as many drawings or paintings as they wish.

PRIZES

Awards will be presented to the top 3 submissions in two age categories as decided by Easter Seals Canada: Category A (Ages 6 to 10) and Category B (Ages 11 to 14).

  • First Prize: $100 gift card and Easter Seals Gift Pack
  • Second and Third Prize: $25 gift card and Easter Seals Gift Pack

SUBMISSIONS

  • Send a photo of your drawing by email to info@easterseals.ca by 11:59pm on Sunday, June 7, 2020. The photo must be accompanied by the parent/adult permission and release form.
  • If your artwork is selected among the top winning entries, you will be invited to send your original drawing/painting to Easter Seals Canada. Submitted artworks will not be returned and will become the property of Easter Seals Canada.

ARTWORK CRITERIA

  • Size: The artwork should be no smaller than letter-size paper (8.5 inches x 11 inches) and no larger than tabloid/ledger-size paper (11 inches x 17 inches).
  • Medium: The drawing or painting can be created with any medium (e.g. paint, markers or crayons) but must not be created digitally.
  • Original submission: The drawing or painting must be original and created entirely by the child that is entering the contest.

The Easter Seals Art Contest is held in celebration of National AccessAbility Week (May 31 to June 6, 2020) and Red Shirt Day (June 3, 2020).

Remember to wear red on Red Shirt Day (Wednesday, June 3rd, 2020) and post your selfie/group photo on social media with the hashtag #KidsForAccessAbility, #RedShirtDay, #RedForAccessAbility.
