We are looking for an ambitious, creative, dynamic, and experienced Communications & Marketing Coordinator to join our team. The incumbent will play an important role in the development and implementation of day-to-day communication activities and content, as well as broader strategic, internal and external-facing, marketing and branding initiatives, events and campaigns.

About the Position:
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, National Corporate Partnership, the Communications & Marketing Coordinator will help build on and enhance the Easter Seals brand in Canada by writing and creating compelling, attractive and persuasive content, print and digital communication and marketing materials for internal and external audiences, to build awareness of Easter Seals activities and impacts, elevate our public brand recognition and support our various initiatives at the national and provincial levels. This position will also be responsible for managing and maintaining a variety of the organization’s digital platforms including social media, organizational website, as well as associated fundraising and promotional campaigns and event websites.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement strategies and materials to fulfill communications, marketing and fundraising objectives/campaigns across website, emailers, social media, etc.
• Manage website content and updates.
• Develop materials including videos, digital collaterals and print materials.
• Plan and execute e-newsletters and e-blasts.
• Execute and monitor online paid and unpaid advertising initiatives (across Google AdWords,
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube).Execute and monitor efficacy of all social media activities, expanding brand reach and engagement.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual social media and Google Analytics reports.
• Support stewardship and reporting activities to funders, partners and the broader community.
• Champion the brand both internally and externally.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Characteristics:
The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working in the charity sector, and an interest in supporting those persons living with a disability.

Essential Skills include:
• Outstanding writing and other communication skills, with demonstrated experience writing a broad range of content for various audiences and objectives, including but not limited to website and social media content, SEO, annual reports, newsletters, press releases, print and digital advertising.
• Strong editing and proofreading skills, and a demonstrated ability to create compelling storytelling concepts/strategies, in addition to writing and producing written and video-based stories/content.
• Excellent organizational, project management and time-management skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Being proactive, creative, artistic, technically savvy.
• Being collaborative, flexible, adaptable, tenacious, diplomatic, and open to feedback.
• Ability to demonstrate sound judgement and problem-solving skills.
• Excelling under pressure and can work with limited supervision to achieve results and meet deadlines in fast-paced environment.
• Written and oral French language skills, an asset.

Education and Other Training and Experiences:
• Diploma/Degree in related field.
• 3+ years of marketing and communications experience.
• Demonstrated, advanced skills in effectively employing various digital tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop and Premiere), WordPress, Google AdWords, Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Windows Movie Maker/iMovie, Campaign Monitor (or similar) is required.
• Skills in HTML, CSS, and/or Javascript preferred.
• Graphic design, video production and web development experience, an asset.
• Experience supporting comprehensive multi-channel corporate marketing and communications, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok.

Volunteer Position – French Translator

About the Position

Easter Seals Canada is looking for a Volunteer French Translator with a strong mastery of written and oral French (preferably Quebec French) to assist with translations of English language documents and materials into French to support our development, programming, and marketing and communication initiatives. This position is suitable for students and retirees. The Volunteer French Translator can primarily work from home/remotely in tandem with staff; and may be required to work/meet at our office from time to time.

The Volunteer French Translator will report to the Senior Manager, National Corporate Partnership, and also work with other staff as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work in collaboration with staff to translate English language documents into French – for print or oral publications – as required, in a timely manner.

Skills and Characteristics

The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working in the charity sector, and an interest in supporting those persons living with a disability.  Essential Skills include:

  • Bilingual, with outstanding English and French (preferably Quebec French) communication skills, both oral and written – at the College/University level
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office -Word
  • Excellent organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Can work with limited supervision to achieve results and meet deadlines in fast pace environment.
  • Proactive, creative, technically savvy, and diplomatic.
  • Collaborative, flexible and adaptable.
