This December, you can help spread cheer by joining us in letting them know that they’ve not been forgotten. Here are a few things you can do:

  • Make a one-time or monthly donation to Easter Seals.

Every dollar helps and will be matched by Amway Canada.

  • Give the special people in your lives a meaningful gift this holiday by making a donation to Easter Seals in their honour!

We will send them an electronic or traditional card on your behalf to inform them of your gift!

  • Leave a message of hope and encouragement below.

We will share these messages on our social media channels each day in December!

Disability and accessibility issues affect all Canadians:

Over 6.2 million Canadians have a disability. That’s 1 in every 5 Canadians. So, we all likely know someone who has a disability, whether we’re aware of it or not, because disabilities can be visible or invisible.

Living with disabilities is expensive and many Canadians with disabilities live in low-income households:

In 2017 alone, 1.6 million Canadians with disabilities said they are unable to afford the accessibility equipment or prescription medication they require.

Many Canadians with disabilities have been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic:

Recent studies have shown that 57% of Canadians with disabilities said their mental health has worsened, and more than 44% said they have difficulty affording their groceries.

A fully accessible and inclusive Canada is good for all Canadians:

Canadians with disabilities face multiple barriers to employment, including hiring bias and inaccessible workplaces. However, improving workplace accessibility and labour market participation of people with disabilities could increase Canada’s GDP by $16.8 billion by 2030.
