CENTURY 21 RECEIVES DISTINGUISHED PATRON AWARD FOR ITS DECADES OF SUPPORT OF CANADIANS WITH DISABILITIES

December 2, 2021 – It is with great pleasure that Easter Seals Canada announces CENTURY 21 Canada as the recipient of its 2021 Patron Award. The Easter Seals Canada Patron Award is a prestigious honour and the highest recognition that Easter Seals Canada bestows annually to an organization in recognition of its long-term commitment and financial support for Easter Seals’ mission and work. Easter Seals Patron Award recipients demonstrate unwavering dedication to the advancement of accessibility and inclusivity issues in Canada.

According to Dave Starrett, President & CEO of Easter Seals Canada, “CENTURY 21 Canada has proven that it’s setting the gold standard, not just in the real estate industry but also in its steadfast commitment to giving back to the community.”

Since opening its first office in Canada approximately 40 years ago, CENTURY 21 Canada has selected Easter Seals as its charity of choice. Each year, CENTURY 21 Companies and Network members in Canada raise hundreds of thousands of dollars through the C21 Kids to Camp Program to give children and youth living with disabilities the opportunity to attend Easter Seals’ accessible and barrier-free camps across Canada. The camps provide fun outdoor activities like rock climbing, kayaking and rope courses, in addition to building skills, cultivating friendships, and creating memories that will last them a lifetime.

“We are truly proud to partner with CENTURY 21 Canada to advance accessibility and inclusion, and to enhance the physical and mental well-being of children, youth and families living with disabilities.”

Starrett’s sentiments were shared by Martin Charlwood, President and CEO of CENTURY 21 Canada. “Supporting Easter Seals is an important part of our organization. From coast to coast, the C21 network is committed to providing kids with different abilities the opportunity to go to camp,” Charlwood said. “We take great pride in the money we have raised to date and look forward to continued commitment to Easter Seals. Between our franchises and individual real estate agents, raising money for our Kids to Camp program is a huge part of what we do.”

According to one previous Easter Seals camper, “Easter Seals camp is the best! I love going to camp because I get to do fun things like swimming and fishing. I get to meet new people and try new things. The camp is accessible, and the camp staff are amazing. They help us with lots of things. If we want to try something new, the staff find a way to make that happen for us. My only wish is that I could go for the whole summer!”
