Easter Seals Canada honours Amway Canada with the 2019 Patron Award for its long-standing support and commitment to help enhance the independence, well-being and quality of life of Canadians who are living with disabilities.
Toronto, March 27, 2019 – Easter Seals Canada is proud to announce that the 2019 Easter Seals Canada Patron Award will be presented to AMWAY Canada (www.amway.ca). The Patron Award is a prestigious honour and the highest recognition that Easter Seals Canada bestows annually to an organization in recognition of its long-term commitment and financial support for Easter Seals’ mission and work, and which has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the advancement of accessibility and inclusivity issues in Canada.
According to Dave Starrett, President & CEO of Easter Seals Canada, “Amway is committed to helping people live better lives. Clearly, this commitment extends beyond its business and products to its partnership with Easter Seals. Amway’s positive messaging and recognition that people must get out of their comfort zones to make great things happen, is helping Canadians living with disabilities make the most of their abilities and realize their true potential. We are truly grateful to Amway Canada and Amway Independent Business Owners (IBOs) nation-wide for their unwavering support and long-standing partnership.”
Amway Canada is one of the world’s largest direct selling businesses in the personal care, nutrition and household products industry. Since 2005, Amway has been the National Hero Sponsor for the Easter Seals Drop Zone events—a heart-pounding, adrenaline-pumping fundraising adventure that challenges people to get out of their comfort zones and rappel from the top of a towering high-rise building, all in support of Canadians living with disabilities. Along with corporate sponsorship of the event, Amway Independent Business Owners and employees also challenge themselves and help change lives by participating in the Drop Zone and other local Easter Seals events across Canada – part of Amway’s global One by One campaign that encourages Amway employees, affiliates and IBOs around the world to engage in causes that support children in need.
To date, Amway Canada and Amway IBOs have contributed nearly $1M to support vital Easter Seals programs and services for children, youth and adults who are living with disabilities.
“Amway Canada is deeply honoured and humbled by this recognition and grateful to the numerous Independent Business Owners and employees who have contributed to our philanthropic success. We’re extremely proud to have helped many Canadians to enhance their daily lives by using Easter Seals services.”
– Len Iakiri, General Manager for Canada.
“Accepting the award and representing all our Canadian Independent Business Owners who have contributed through volunteerism, philanthropic deeds and financial contributions is an honour and a milestone for Amway Canada.”
– Faith Morrison, Senior Account Manager, National Sales
