Message from the Governor General on the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of Easter Seals Canada

Since its foundation in 1922, Easter Seals Canada has been removing barriers and advocating for a more inclusive society for children and adults with disabilities.

Focused on caring and compassion, Easter Seals Canada has remained committed to enhancing the quality of life, well-being and independence of its clients, adapting to their needs and those of our communities from coast to coast. Over the last century, their critical work has improved our country as a whole and helped foster a stronger, more accessible Canada.

This would not have been possible without the Easter Seals’ dedicated staff, enthusiastic volunteers and supportive partners. Thanks to their remarkable contributions, Canadians have access to essential services and programs that help them live their lives to the fullest.

Congratulations to everyone celebrating this milestone. I wish you the very best as you celebrate the past and look to the future.
