Easter Seals-RBC 21st Century Skills Online Training Program

The term “21st Century skills” refers to a broad set of knowledge, skills, work habits, and character traits that are believed—by educators, employers, and others—to be critically important to success in today’s information age, particularly in modern careers and workplaces. 

While they can be defined in a variety of ways, 21st Century skills include

  2. Creativity
  3. Collaboration
  4. Communication
  5. Information literacy
  6. Media literacy
  7. Technology literacy
  8. Flexibility
  9. Leadership
  10. Initiative
  11. Productivity
  12. Social skills

This self-directed online course was created with these 21st century skills in mind to aid youth with disabilities, age 15-29, in building employability and life skills from the comfort of their own homes and communities. Topics covered include critical thinking, problem-solving, social perceptiveness and cultural awareness, and information communication and digital literacy in the workplace.

Individuals interested in the course will need to sign-up (at any time) and create an account/profile to access the materials. Once signed up, participants can access the course material any order they wish based on their own individual learning needs and priorities.

The course is a work-in-progress, and new materials will be added over time.
