Dave’s sentiments are echoed by a parent, Paula, whose son, Dylan, had the opportunity to attend Easter Seals’ Camp Woodeden in Ontario. Paula said, “Camp offers so much more than a camping experience… it offers the opportunity for children with special needs to really shine, stand out and be made to feel more special than they have experienced before. Every activity – sport, adventure, craft – is designed for any child to participate regardless of any challenges they may face… And like icing on the cake, the counsellors really go out of their way to help the children, engage them in various activities, show great compassion and care for the campers, and offer a little respite for the parents. I cannot speak enough to how amazing the counsellors are. (Easter Seals’) camp carried forward on its promise to deliver an amazing camp experience for each camper. My son, Dylan, took partook in so many fun activities and carried a smile all day because of the opportunities that he had to participate in these activities, all of which we would never be able to find anywhere else or all in one amazing place. I would like to send out a heartfelt and sincere thank you to everyone involved… for the opportunity that Dylan received in being invited to attend camp. The impact on Dylan was so positiveand know that this helped him in so many ways. It also had an impact on me: seeing my son so happy and made to feel special by everyone involved.”
