See ability in disability.

See the difference? Be the difference!

March is Easter Seals Month!

It’s Easter Seals Month! Easter Seals Canada encourages everyone to see ability in disability, to see the difference and to be the difference.

You can be the difference in a number of ways, including:

  • Learn more about disability. Check out 12 Facts And Figures About Having A Disability In Canada, and follow Easter Seals! Like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.
  • Hire people with disabilities. If you are in a position to hire, please encourage people with disabilities to apply. The unemployment rate for people with disabilities is higher than the Canadian average and yet, according to a BMO 2012 survey, the majority of employers said that workers with disabilities either met their expectations or exceeded them.
  • Support Easter Seals Month by becoming a monthly donor! By doing so, you will help sustain transformational programs and services for kids and adults with disabilities.
  • Participate in Easter Seals’ fundraising events in your province, such as the Paper Egg Campaign (March 9-April 5), the Drop Zone (this summer) and other exciting (and super fun) local initiatives! Visit your provincial Easter Seals organization to learn more.
  • When you take action to support people with disabilities, let others know via social media: #EasterSealsMonth #disability #BeTheDifference
