In order to ensure healthy environments that are both environmental and economically sustainable, Easter Seals Canada strives to:
- Identify and quantify the environmental impact of its facilities, programs and administration.
- Collectively set realistic but aggressive annual improvement targets for its environmental impacts.
- Minimize consumption and waste, buy what we need, re-use wherever possible and appropriately recycle that which is no longer fit for use.
- Reduce energy consumption and costs from our facilities with the use of energy audits and renewable energy technology in all retrofits and new construction.
- Involve and source key suppliers dedicated to the process of continual improvement in reducing the environmental impact of our administrative activities ensuring we meet the best environmental standards.
- Meet and, where possible, exceed all relevant national and local environmental legislation and by-laws.
- Ensure that all staff are made aware of the Environmental Policy during induction training and annual reviews
- Report the environmental performance of the organization to stakeholders and communities in the annual report.
